What is Stress ?
Stress is the brain signalling our Mind or conscious that something is wrong with you. What you think and perceive is how the brain is working, so if something feels is not right brain releases chemicals which cause Stress in you.
Personally, If I know what Stress means, it is easy to manage stress. But even if one knows What is Stress; It’s still hard to manage stress. Knowing and implementing are two different actions. Perception of people around me is sometimes difficult to change; not that difficult if I have the power(my ability to relieve stress)
Stress is caused after the brain sends a signal to the mind that something feels off (by releasing chemicals) and you are not able to find the solution to that problem.
‘Why stress comes’ is different for everybody. If we know the cause of the stress it is not hard to manage stress. Therefore, Stress relief becomes easy If the Stress Meaning and Stress Cause are known; but knowing and implementing are different actions, so working towards myself, that is, improving my personality and skills to relieve stress is key. If Stress is due to money, then I am training myself by improving and learning new skills that will help me earn more money. Even as I am writing this I am imagining myself as the author of a best-selling book. If Stress is caused by a bad relationship with Family or Friends, then I am improving myself and the circle which I surround myself with, that is, friends and other people continuously.
Stress can come as a result of less mind control too, where one’s action doesn’t match the thought. Thinking one thing but doing other thing.
Stress Management
I know What is Stress. So, a chemical is released by the brain and the after-effects that comes in form of a feeling of emotion is Stress. If my mind is not in control of my Brain, (mind and brain are two different things, shortly will write an article and paste the link here) it will be difficult for me to cope with the stress and negativity that comes along with it. But my mind controls the brain which in turn controls my actions. MIND is that thing which if you earn it will change your life as mine was changed. Make me angry Please! I know I am angry. And I know the reason. The mind tells my brain that foreigners (unwanted chemicals) are travelling inside you.
The mind tells the brain what to do. My mind tells the brain to shut up if required; my mind tells the brain to get out of here if required, and my mind tells my brain to do all those actions necessary to stop the stress-causing chemicals and help manage Stress. But What if your Mind is not as smart as mine; Your mind is on a holiday and you need it, then what? Then problems occur and you wonder why you are stressed, how to manage stress, what is stress etc.
The mind is like the autopilot mode in Tesla where it programs the brain on what to do and not to do
Stressed out in Mind
When we feel stressed, we encircle ourselves in our limited perception and negative emotion. And it becomes very difficult to get out of that circle. This encirclement limits our thoughts so we are not able to grow and the perception is too limited to be able to think out of the box, that is, our ability to perceive things with an open mind rather than being trapped in one’s emotions like Anger, Sadness etc. And as long as you are entrapped in that circle, the ability to perceive things with sound and a positive mind diminish. That is the worst part of Stress in Life. Even if you know that you have to leave the circle of negative thoughts trapping you; Since you don’t know how and nobody teaches in school, we fail to understand what is stress and stress management.
For example, if Stress is caused by unhealthy relationships, then leaving that space and spending time on and with yourself becomes important to grow and think positive. This ultimately helps in Stress Management and Stress Relief. If Stress is due to money in life, the general way is to make use of resources left to gain financial skills which will help you achieve Financial Stability. There are many books, certification programs online in today’s time and skills which we can learn and earn money. No work which pays the bills is small in today’s modern society.
Always set the End-Goal. What is it that you want to achieve in life. Take small and steady steps at start like a baby which learns to crawl first rather than walk or run
Set Goals to get Stress Relief
To become successful in life? To become rich? If so, then you should instantly realise what and how you are doing wrong. The dangerous thing is if I don’t have a goal. But the good thing is that you reading this or another blog about Stress shows you self-realised and already are taking the first baby steps to improve yourself. Most students or adults don’t realise what is stress and the importance of stress management to make life happier. Even though they are stuck and wish to relieve stress but they do not know the next step to take. Students especially, don’t realise what to do until it’s too late. We do not know about a mentor who can help us in life. Perhaps, we as Students are not raised in the environment of getting help from someone reliable or as adults, perhaps have not met someone in life who is like a mentor, a good friend or a better half in their life. The conclusion is, that they do not take steps in life to turn it around even if they are unhappy Making excuses is also our second nature nowadays like my brother sid.
Try to crawl even if the society is running; One day when you have laid the foundation, you will run beside them. Become like a baby! Taking steps one at a time and start life afresh and anew!
Creativity to tackle Stressed Out Mind
The moment I realise I need to change, then & there my life will start to change in a positive way.
After self-realisation all one needs to do is carry that momentum with oneself and keep on doing positive activities or productive work like I do myself daily that contributes to your betterment and no matter how small, keep doing it. Like a student helping parents with laundry or cooking or doing something creative like art or productive activities like reading, eating healthy, exercise etc.
Catching happiness in small things is crucial as well, rather than always running behind bigger goals. Short-Term goals are as necessary as long-term goals as they lay the foundation for what’s to come.
For an average person, It is comparatively easy to change a habit than to carry that momentum forward continuously throughout life. Start small first, it feels good. After a time, the things you do and the decisions you take will become your habits and those habits define a person as an individual. Good habits will shine a light on oneself and bad habits will dim that light a little. Forming new habits from scratch is easy, for example, I want to start reading books; I can do that although maintaining can be hard; But changing bad habits that I am enjoying doing for years can be hard only when I make it hard.
Mind Control helps in Stress Control
Mind control plays a huge role in Habits and everything in life including Stress. Personally, with all things I have experienced, I know no one is immune to stress. It’s just the handling of the situations we are put in that matters the most. That is what will define what your life will be in the future. When I am Stressed, my mind is in control rather than the brain. In short, the difference between Mind and Brain is, if I take a hierarchy chart, the Mind will be on top of the brain followed by habits and at-last decisions. So Mind has the power to overthrow bad or even good habits. So it is also important to develop the brain with a positive mindset. Mind with Negativity will only command the brain to take bad and negative decisions in life. The brain is like autopilot mode which works the way one commands it. That is, the habits we form will result in whether we are successful in life. Success is different for everyone based on their mindset.
So for me, when Stressed, my Mind has control over the Brain. The control is only partial because I believe if one has complete control over the brain there will be no stress. The possibilities that will open are infinite. As we take into account that no one is immune to stress so that possibility automatically becomes null. I know when my brain is telling me to do something I know it’s bad; my mind knows to control the brain and the body.
The quality of life I want to live is dependent on how I develop my mind.
The mind is like the sixth sense. It is intangible; It is imaginary; but has an importance in life.
The Conclusion
If seen scientifically maybe it is that part of the brain which develops cognitive abilities to self-think and becomes independent of the Brain as a whole. It is also called Cerebellum and is located on the back side of the head.
So stress is nothing but signals or chemicals the brain releases when it feels something is not good that something is not according to how we programmed our human brain to be etc. Now, the mind knows know that and keeps the brain in check to not take decisions that I will repent later on. That is the relationship between Stress and Mind
It’s important to take a pause, go do what you like; Do productive activities that you like.
